Paper is not a great option for perfume storage if you want shelf life. Our experts have found that paper products can last about two to three months under optimal conditions. The answer? Well, it depends on the product and the amount of fragrance you use.
On an average, perfume will last for approximately 7-30 hours on paper. However, this depends on the strength of the scent, the type of paper you use, the temperature and the amount of product you have on your paper.
How long does perfume last on paper towels?
There are varying amounts of absorption on different types of paper towels You can expect to get between 30% and 40% absorption. This means that the amount of perfume that gets onto the towels will be reduced by about one-third.
To test how long your favorite perfume will last on paper towels, we placed a dime on a piece of folded paper towel and sprayed the towel with the perfume. We let the perfume settle on the towel for one hour, eight hours, 24 hours, and 48 hours before smelling the towel.
We found that scents could last up to 24 hours on the paper towels, especially when the perfume had strong notes.
