Well, UX design can be either a standalone role within an organization, or it can be a role that someone in a given organization performs. For example, a writer might be responsible for writing copy for a website or a designer might be responsible for designing the website.

For some organizations, a website designer is a full-time employee and a writer might be a contractor. A designer who works at an in-house agency might be an employee of the designer’s own company. Neither of these A good design is one that solves problems and gets the job done, so when someone says that they need to improve the UX of their website or software, they aren’t just saying it for fun.

What does the word UX design mean to you guys?

The first thing I think of when it comes to the meaning of UX design is making the experience easier and more pleasant for the users of a website or software. A website and software should be intuitive and provide the users with a path that enables them to easily accomplish their tasks.

What good is a website or software that is confusing? If the user has to spend more time trying to understand how to use the website or software, they might get frustrated and end up not using it at all. I’ve been working with digital products for almost 20 years now and still every time I need to find a great designer, I have to look for the right buzzwords in their CV.

A designer who knows about UX is a designer who cares about the whole experience. He or she will not only create a clear and simple interface but will also design the flow of the experience so that people can accomplish their tasks easily.
